Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using the VAND website, assessment service or design award programme (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old or have the consent of a legal guardian to use the Service. You are responsible for ensuring that your participation complies with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction.

3. Submissions

When you submit a project for assessment or award consideration, you represent that the work is your own or that you have all necessary rights to submit it, and that it does not infringe any third-party intellectual property or other rights.

You grant VAND a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, display and distribute your submitted materials for the purpose of evaluation, promotion of the award programme and related communications.

4. Assessment and decisions

Initial assessments are provided for guidance only and do not guarantee selection, certification or any particular outcome. All final decisions are made at the sole discretion of the VAND jury and administrators.

5. Intellectual property

VAND retains all rights to its name, logo, branding, content and software. You may not use VAND trademarks without prior written permission. You retain ownership of your original work subject to the licence granted above.

6. Fees and payments

Where applicable, fees are displayed before checkout. All payments are processed by third-party payment providers. VAND is not responsible for payment processing errors outside its reasonable control.

7. Prohibited conduct

You may not misuse the Service, submit false information, attempt to gain unauthorised access, interfere with other users, or use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, VAND shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to VAND in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these terms or for any other legitimate reason. You may stop using the Service at any time.

10. Governing law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which VAND operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The revised terms will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
